I honestly can’t believe it’s already time for the second OOTW! I know I said I would post on Monday, but I went on holiday on Friday for a few days so I didn’t have time to write a post before I left. Last week was a busy week! I think this post will be posted tomorrow (Wednesday) which is a couple of days late, I know, but I started writing this at 7:30pm and the lighting isn’t really ideal for pictures. My plan is to write it all tonight and take the pictures tomorrow morning and have it posted as early as possible. After this, OOTW #3 and so on will continue to be posted on Mondays. Sorry I didn’t stick to my schedule! Hopefully that was just a one off.
This week’s outfit is a lot darker in comparison to the first one. I wanted it to be much different to the first one because I have a lot of jumpers, and I own three AA tennis skirts at the moment and a lot of the time I find I rotate through the same four or five outfits (I really need to stop). I don’t seem to own a lot of clothes that I wear a lot, which probably means I need to take a good look at my stuff and decide what I really want to keep (yikes).
Also, for reference. I am 5ft exactly, and a 6/S/XS in most clothing. I have a petite build, but I don’t always buy my clothes from the petite section.
Top: The top is from New Look. Its a black long sleeved ribbed crop top that I bought a while ago. It’s a size 8, and a fairly good fit considering it’s a size too big – normally you can get away with buying tops that are slightly too big though! I think I bought it for around £14. I can’t find it on the website anymore but I did buy it in summer last year. However, I have found a similar one on Boohoo for £6. I wear this top underneath my dress because I think it adds a lot more character to an otherwise simple dress. To be honest I didn’t even think of this idea until recently, so I was kicking myself because I’d neglected the dress so much before! I always felt like something was missing on it, and the top definitely makes the outfit!
Dress: I bought the dress in a size 6 when it was on sale at Topshop for £6. I bought it in October 2014 so it’s long gone by now. It’s a simple denim dress with spaghetti straps and two little pockets on the front There are four buttons going down the chest area of the dress – I always thought they were decorative buttons but when I looked at it now they’re actually real buttons! I don’t know what the purpose of them being there is, possibly to help people get the dress on if they have a bigger chest or maybe for girls who are feeling risky and feel like having a few buttons open (I am not at all risky though). If you search ‘Women’s Denim Strappy, Spaghetti Strap Dresses’ on eBay, you’ll find plenty of similar dresses to this one. However, the closest dress I could find to this one in any stores at the moment is the American Apparel Babydoll Dress which is £44 – a lot more than what I paid for my dress – and also there’s not as much to it, and it’s also a lighter colour.
Tights: I’m just wearing some simple skin coloured tights. I think they’re from Asda but you can buy them almost anywhere fairly cheap!
Shoes: My shoes are from New Look and actually still available to buy! I bought them very recently and you can find them here for £22.99. I actually love t-bar shoes, they make me feel cute and they’re so comfortable to wear once they’re broken in (these gave me blisters for a while but that’s nothing a good blister plaster can’t fix!). If you’re a student like me you can get 10% discount at New Look so make good use of it if you can!
Necklace: My necklace is also from New Look (I buy a lot of things from New Look apparently). I bought it last year, and I can’t remember how much it was. It came in a set of 3 necklaces, this one, a black choker, and a gold necklace that I accidentally broke after a night out (RIP). It is a cute red string necklace, with some small gold flower shaped pieces, and a big daisy in the center. I love this necklace because it’s cute and simplistic and looks good with mostly any outfit! It’s just really easy to style with anything.
Watch: I’ve spoken about my Michael Kors watch before – I wear it all the time. You can read all about it in my OOTW #1 and also find links where to buy it!
Ring 1: I’ve also spoken about my Pandora ring before and I wear it all the time too! Again, you can read all about it on my OOTW #1 post.
Ring 2: Same thing again, read all about my rose gold Next ring on OOTW #1.
Bag: I chose to go with my little Hello Kitty bag with this outfit. It’s really cute and I wanted to add to the cuteness of the outfit. I actually got this bag when I went on holiday to Greece when I was like 10 years old so I have no idea where you could get it from now, but I’m sure you can find plenty of Hello Kitty bags if you search them on Google! The bag is a simple small zipped shoulder bag with a pocket on the front, probably only big enough for a little coin purse, keys, and phone but it’s nice if you don’t need to take much out with you!
That’s all for this second OOTW! I hope you liked it and again, I’m sorry if it feels rushed and I’m sorry it was late! The next one should be up next on Monday (I mean it this time!). See you in the next one!
